MAY 23 – PINTO TOWNSITE & PAGE RANCH, DIXIE NATIONAL FOREST

The small hamlet of Pinto, with its lush meadows and clear stream of good water, was a natural stopping place on the Old Spanish Trail. Another historical stopping point along what was once a major freighting and travel route was Page Ranch. The ranch house served regularly as an informal hotel for travelers and as a boarding house for men working in the nearby iron ore mines.
