NOV 30 – DAWN EIDE-ALBRECHT – ST GEORGE CITY LEISURE SERVICES

St George won the national Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation management in 2016. Judges said the city had shown an exemplary commitment to award criteria of conservation, social equity as well as health and fitness. Over the past 30 years, the city has added numerous sports fields, museums, clubs and other facilities. Large-scale events like the St. George Marathon and the St. George Ironman have grown the area’s reputation nationwide as an outdoor recreation destination. The department employs about 80 full-time workers, with a large network of volunteers and part-timers.
